CONNECT GROUP WK. 1

1. Read Luke 6:17-19 TPT ”Jesus and his apostles came down from the hillside to a level field, where a large number of his disciples waited, along with a massive crowd: people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the coastal district of Tyre and Sidon. They had all come to listen to the Word so that they could be healed of their diseases and be set free from tormenting demonic powers. The entire crowd eagerly tried to come near Jesus, to touch him to receive healing, because a tangible, supernatural power emanated from him and healed all who came close to him.”

– Who did God heal? (“All”).

– Who was unable to receiving the healing power of God? And why were they unable? (No one, all who came close were healed)

– Why did the people receive healing? (THEY eagerly went close to Jesus to RECEIVE their healing. And power to heal ALL emanated (to flow from a source, such as light flows from the sun)from him.

2 Read Acts 10:38 NKJV. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Jesus is a living picture of the will of God in action. What did He do here on earth? (He went about “doing good and healing all who were oppressed”)

3 Read Hosea 4:6 NKJV “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Is ignorance really bliss? What does the Word of God say about this and how to fix it? (the word says ignorance is not bliss and is how the devil can keep us in bondage and destroy us. Romans 10:17 has the answer to this- “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. “The more Word that gets in you the more prosperous, you will be in all areas.

4 Read Exodus 23:25-26. “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” If God healed His people then, what can we expect from Him now? God never changes. If He healed His people under the old covenant, He will most certainly heal us in the new covenant based off of better promises through Christ Jesus.

5 Read Psalm 103:1-5 TPT. “With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease. You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life. You’ve crowned me with love and mercy. You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!” What stands out to you in this passage and why?

6 Read Isaiah 53:4-5 “Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” When Jesus died on the cross, He made salvation available to us. We received this easily through faith and except it as our own. Do you believe we can receive healing the same way? Why do you think accepting healing as our own is much harder to receive?

This week Pastor Ed spoke on the integrity of God’s Word. Which of the many passages he mentioned stood out to you and why?

Read the following verses about God’s unchanging Word.

“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭89‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is against our natural thinking living in a fallen world to expect anything to last forever. How can we change our mindset to dully believe God’s Word will NEVER change or fail? (Meditate on these scriptures to renew our mind to think like God)

What is the Lord constantly doing in heaven?

(“Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.””

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

Read: “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

So if the Lord is ACTIVELY watching over His ACTIVE Word from heaven, what are you doing or should be doing that is proACTIVE on your part? (Speaking the Word!! Give God something to work with. Faith without works is dead. We need to confess with our mouths the promises of God and declare them over our lives even in the midst of contradicting circumstances)

5 In a turbulent unstable world, let us rest in the unwavering faithfulness of the Lord. All His promises of love, forgiveness, protection, HEALING etc. are ever present for you. Meditate on these scriptures this week to fill your heart with faith and trust in the steadfastness of the Lord.

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

“Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.”

“Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.”

Healing Connect Group Wk. 3

1. Read Matthew 15:6. “…Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.”
What does this mean? Is there any “tradition” or incorrect thinking you need to change about the way you view healing?
Answer: the Bible will have no effect in your life if you hold onto the traditions of men that are in contrast to the promises of the Word.2. Read Matthew 8:2-3, 16.
2-3 “Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.”
16 “That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick.”
What words or phrases in these verses indicate how God feels about healing?
Answer: “I am willing” and “He healed all” (God is no respecter of persons. He does not will one thing for me, and a different thing for you. If Jesus said in his Word that he is willing to heal, and that He heals All, Then we know that He is always willing to heal All of us.)3. Why should we not pray “Lord if it be thy will…”?
Answer: God’s Word contains His will. We have the Holy Spirit to help us understand and know God’s will when we read His Word.4. Read Exodus 15:26. “He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.””
What do we need to do to be healed? (Trick question)
Answer: we need to receive it. This verse is based on the old covenant, but now in the new covenant established by Jesus, we don’t have to be perfect and obey all His commands in order to receive from God. Jesus fulfilled following the law for us and now we stand in His righteousness. All we need to do is believe by Jesus’ stripes, we are healed!

5. Does God cause diseases to fall on people who need to learn to lean on Him more? Why or why not.
Answer: no. One of God’s names is Jehovah-Rapha meaning the God who heals. He cannot be double minded and never changes. In our fallen sinful world, sickness happens. But God has given us authority to take care of that through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

6. Read James 1:17. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
What does this verse mean to you?

7. Read John 15:7-8. “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
What does fruit look like in a Christian that is abiding in Christ?
Answer: there are many possible answers. In general it will be walking in all the different promises of God and seeing them come to pass in your life. We are to be lighthouses / pillars of hope to the lost dark world by our obviously blessed lives.

Healing connect group week 4

1. Read John 10:10 NLT “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
What does a rich and satisfied life look like with Jesus?
Answer: open ended; but definitely not sick! We are to be healthy and wealthy and SATISFIED. What a wonderful Word from the Lord.

2. Read Colossians 2:14-15 TPT. What major thing did Jesus do in each verse?
“He CANCELED out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He ERASED it ALL—our sins, our stained soul—he DELETED it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of CANCELLATION.

Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, STRIPPING AWAY from them EVERY weapon and ALL their spiritual AUTHORITY and POWER to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was NOT their prisoner; they were HIS!”
Colossians 2:14-15 TPT

Answer: verse 14-Jesus completely redeemed us from our state of sin by cancelling everything out. Verse 15-Jesus took back the authority from the devil and all the powers of hell in triumph. All hail King Jesus!!!

3. Read Galatians 3:13-14 TPT
“Yet, Christ paid the full price to set us free from the curse of the law. He absorbed the curse completely as he became a curse in our place. For it is written: “Everyone who is hung upon a tree is cursed.” Jesus Christ dissolved the curse from our lives, so that in him all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon gentiles. And now through faith we receive the promised Holy Spirit who lives in us.”
What does the curse of the law mean?
Answer: You can see the full description in Deuteronomy 28 but it is essentially poverty, sickness and spiritual death. We were under the curse of the law before receiving Christ since we were unable to follow all the laws and be perfect/holy.

4. What are the miraculous signs that Jesus said should follow ANY believers of Him? (Not just the disciples)
Answer: “These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.””
Mark 16:17-18 NLT

5. If YOU are laying hands on the sick, and believing for healing for someone else, is their healing dependent on their own faith? Why or why not?
Answer, NO!
When we Lay hands on the sick, it is our Faith, and our belief that will activate healing FOR them. Like the last scripture states, “They(you) will be able to place their(your) hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”” It does not state, “You will lay your hands on the sick, and as long as they have faith, they will recover.” If Healing for others was dependent on their faith, Jesus would never have been able to heal ALL. All is a definitive statement meaning none went without healing. Even with Jesus being the almighty son of God, if someone else’s healing was dependent on their own personal faith/belief, then He would not have been able to heal ALL. Most, maybe. Some, definitely, but ALL? Never.
Again, the Bible says..
These signs, deliverance, tongues, supernatural safety, and the miraculous healing from laying on of hands, accompany US as the believer. WE as the ones who believe, have the authority to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover because WE believe. Not because the ones getting prayed for believe.

6. Read Acts 10:38 TPT “Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with great power. He did wonderful things for others and divinely healed all who were under the tyranny of the devil, for God had anointed him.”

Why did God anoint Jesus to do these things?
Answer: He anointed Jesus to heal and do wonderful things / miracles because that is the heart of God! Jesus represented God on earth and came to love us and save us and reveal Gods loving kindness through redemption. Now we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus/God as His body (the church) by also going about healing and doing wonderful things!

7. Read John 14:12-14 AMP
“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior]will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name [as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name [as My representative], I will do it.”

What are you believing for as Jesus’ representative here on earth? How are you actively seeking it out and working towards it?
Answer: Open ended; we need to be sure we are in active faith and not being stagnant. Real faith dares to go up to someone and prays for healing for them expecting results. Do you really believe it will work if you are not willing to try?

Week 5 healing connect group

1. Why is it sometimes easier for sinners to get healed than a Christian?

Answer: Christian’s can sometimes get caught up in “stinking thinking” of bad religion that we have to deserve or earn the promises of God.

2. What does it mean when Jesus says healing is the children’s bread?

Answer: As believers, we are children of God. Healing belongs to us. Just as a child doesn’t need to earn food/bread from their parents, believers don’t need to earn healing from their heavenly father. It is freely given to us out of love. Our good Father loves to take care of His children.

3. Read Psalm 145:8-9. “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.”

‭‭What does mercy mean?

Answer: a yearning desire toward another; similar to compassion. Jesus was constantly moved by compassion towards people to help them.

4. Read Luke 1:78. “The splendor-light of heaven’s glorious sunrise is about to break upon us in holy visitation, all because the merciful heart of our God is so very tender.” There are numerous Bible verses that describe God’s mercy. Why is it so important that we understand this is the heart of God?

Answer: If we don’t squash the incorrect view of God, as being vindictive, aloof, or mean, we will have a hard time truly believing that healing is the will of God.

5. Read Isaiah 53:10 TPT

‭‭ “Even though it pleased Yahweh to crush him with grief, he will be restored to favor. After his soul becomes a guilt-offering, he will gaze upon his many offspring and prolong his days. And through him, Yahweh’s deepest desires will be fully accomplished.”

‭The Hebrew word used here for “grief” can also be known as what?

Answer: disease. Jesus bore all our sins and diseases on the cross.

‭‭6. Read 1 Corinthians 6:20 TPT

“You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!”

How do you think Jesus feels when He sees his believers sick or afflicted?

Answer: he feels compassion. He wants us to receive to truth that we are healed. It is part of what his blood bought for us.

1. What is the process to healing?

Answer: being immersed in healing scriptures constantly. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

2. Read Romans 10:17 again in TPT.

“Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.”

What kind of heart does faith need to come forth?

Answer: A responsive heart to the Word

3. What does that look like?

Answer: Someone who is open to receiving what the Word says and acting on it, even if it contradicts what they initially thought or contradicts what they see.

4. Pastor Ed’s healing testimony was amazing! Does anyone have a healing testimony of their own to share?

5. Read Mark 11:23-24 NLT

“I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.”

‭‭Why do you think Jesus chose to use a mountain as an example for this lesson?

Answer: Jesus could’ve chosen anything as an example, perhaps He chose a mountain because it seems insanely impossible. Jesus is trying to get us to think BIG. Don’t just believe for healing- believe for perfect health 24/7!

6. Read Romans 4:17-21 NLT

“That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”

7. Are you believing for healing of any kind?

Pray and lay hands on them as a group that they will receive the healing! Everyone should continue to keep healing scriptures in meditation.
